Cannabis Oil Legality: Where in the World is CBD Legal?

If you’re planning on traveling, you’ll want to make sure you know you can legally use CBD. Here’s the worldwide cannabis oil legality status.

Sweden

In Sweden, CBD isn’t classified as a medicine, yet there are currently no specific laws concerning it. The process to get it classified as medicine is time-consuming, so that could still take awhile.

You can buy CBD products as long as they contain less than 0.2% THC and are hemp-derived,

Germany

Germany is a country where marijuana is typically only prescribed medicinally for conditions such as chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, or as pain relief for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, the law in Germany doesn’t clearly define the meaning of “seriously ill”, making it difficult to obtain a prescription.

The good news is that hemp oil and other hemp products are completely legal, and can be purchased without a prescription.

Switzerland

Switzerland has some rather unique marijuana laws. For starters, THC isn’t legal within the country, and yet CBD is not a controlled substance.

Growers in Switzerland are allowed to produce high-CBD strains, as long as these strains don’t exceed specified THC values. And Cannabis products such as CBDfx, containing a maximum of 1% THC, are permitted by law to be produced and sold.

Denmark

Denmark is an example of a country that classifies hemp oil as a medicinal drug, thus requiring Danish people to have a prescription from their healthcare provider. The only exception to this is the use of topical CBD products such as lip balm and creams.

United Kingdom

If you’re planning a visit to the United Kingdom, we have good news for you. CBD isn’t a controlled substance there. In fact, there are no restrictions around the cannabinoid, thus it can be freely and legally distributed.

However, CBD oil with values of over 0.2% is classified as medicinal marijuana and is thus illegal.
