While many typically associate vacations with palm trees and tropical beaches, there are other vacation destinations that are equally as relaxing and stunning; one such destination is Canada. When vacationing in Canada, you get the best of both worlds; beautiful beaches sprawled across gorgeous lakes, wonderful live entertainment, an exciting culture, and endless opportunities for outdoors adventures and fun any time of the year. Royal Holiday members vacationing in Canada have the opportunity to experience everything that Canada has to offer while staying at Club Geo Prem at Auberge du Lac Morency. If you are a Royal Holiday member that is about to embark on your Canadian adventure, here are five beautiful places that you have to visit while on your Royal Holiday vacation club trip from the company that consistently wins best Vacation Club in the world:

1. Montreal

Located a mere 45 km. from Club Geo Prem, Montreal is a must-visit Canadian destination. Known for its beautiful architecture and its foodie culture, Montreal is worthy of a full day’s worth of exploration. Take advantage of its bike-friendly culture. Rent a bicycle to ride around the city for the day to take in some of Montreal’s most popular spots including Old Montreal which boasts an array of boutiques, cafes, bars, and some of the best poutine in the city. You will not have a hard time finding something to do in Montreal.

2. The Laurentian Mountains

The first ski lift in North America was built in the Laurentian Mountains in 1931. It is safe to say that the Laurentians are worth a visit. With over 9,000 freshwater lakes and various, charming small towns, the Laurentian Mountains are a favorite among locals and tourists alike. If visiting in the winter, expect to see a lot of individuals partaking in winter sports like skiing and dog-sledding. Summer and fall are popular among hikers and for those seeking out gorgeous fall foliage. If you are lucky enough to visit in March and April, you can experience the wonder that is the maple harvest or “sugar season” in the mountains.

3. Saint-Hippolyte

Situated along the Laurentian Mountains is a small municipality dubbed Saint-Hippolyte. With a gorgeous lake and activities that can fill an entire day, a visit to Saint-Hippolyte is a great way to spend an afternoon. Street cafes offer up delicious pastries and coffee, boutiques offer up unique finds, and nightclubs offer up strong drinks and good music. It is a family-friendly town where everyone can find something that they enjoy doing.

4. Granby Zoo

While it is not a beautiful landscape or charming town, Granby Zoo holds many awards for its sustainability and conservation efforts and is ranked as the eighth biggest tourist attraction in Quebec. It is a charming way to spend a few hours and produces the added benefit of supporting a great organization that hosts some of the world’s most beautiful animals.

5. Lake Morency

You do not need to venture far from your resort to take part in the beauty that Canada has to offer. At Lake Morency, you can fish, kayak, snorkel, wakeboard, and sunbathe in the summer and ski in the winter. An added benefit of Lake Morency is that when you are done for the day, you can head to Club Geo’s spa for a well-deserved massage or its pub for an equally well-deserved adult beverage.

Canada is a country rich with culture and filled with people who are passionate about where they live. It is an ideal destination for foodies, adventure-enthusiasts, art-lovers, world-travelers, photographers, and for those looking for some rest and relaxation. If it is not yet on the top of your travel to-do list, it is certainly worth the visit.
