One of my favorite YouTube channels is MightyCarMods. The channel takes a look at two friends, Marty and MOOG, who modify cars together. Aside from MCM, MOOG has also worked on music projects and albums, which got me thinking, what is MOOG’s net worth?
Who is MOOG?
As stated above, MOOG is half of the MightCarMods team and he’s also a music producer. Born Blair Joscelyne, MOOG spent most of his life in Tasmania. His father was a radio broadcaster and his mom was a violin player, so there’s no surprise MOOG eventually wound up in music.
After graduating high school MOOG went on to study at the University of Western Sydney and then the Berklee College of Music. Once he graduated he began to work as a composer and audio engineer in the advertising industry. His compositions have been used in advertisements for companies like Smirnoff, Visa, BMW, Ford, Discovery Channel, Mazda and National Geographic.
In addition to his music that has been featured in advertising MOOG has also produced four albums (“1978,” “The Sea Brings Rivalry,” “Finding May” and “Coming Up For Air”). Some of MOOG’s songs from these albums have been used on television shows and advertisements.
MOOG also composed, recorded and produced the entire soundtrack to the MightyCarMods film “Kei to the City,” which was released in 2014. The soundtrack album reached the title of eighth most downloaded album on iTunes in Australia. The album also became the number one most downloaded electronic album in Canada and Australia. One year later he went on to compose, record and produce the music for the Nat Geo series “Tales by Light.”
MOOG’s YouTube Career
You can’t talk about MOOG without mentioning his YouTube career. In 2007 Joscelyne and Martin Mulholland began filming MightyCarMods in Mulholland’s mother’s driveway. The channel features automotive projects and tips. The duo have also made a number of car-based films together as well.
Marty and MOOG have come a long way since launching the channel though. Now MightyCarMods receives more than 3 million views per week and it is the number one DIY automotive channel in the world. It is also Australia’s number one automotive channel.
With such a successful YouTube and music career MOOG is probably rolling in the cash, right?
MOOG’s Net Worth
Well, not really. It is estimated that MOOG’s net worth is about $1.7 million. Some sources estimate his net worth to be as low as $700K. However, these are only estimates and there could be an explanation as to why MOOG doesn’t have that much cash.
One of the biggest keys to financial success is making sure that you have multiple sources of income. MOOG has been able to do that through making music and continuing his work on the YouTube channel “Might Car Mods.” In addition to working on the show with Marty the pair also plays some of MOOG’s music in the background of videos so that he may gain more publicity. So, why isn’t MOOG making more?
MightyCarMods spends tons of money to make money. The duo works together on cars that they buy with parts they purchase. Cars and car parts can get pretty pricey. So if MOOG is making bank he’s placing his cash back into his business, which isn’t a terrible idea.
Either way you look at it, MOOG has had a wildly successful music and entertainment career and is continuing to entertain people around the world through his music and on MightyCarMods.
